Informed Consent

Before using Raffy, please read this carefully. Raffy collects sensitive health information about your child. This consent explains what we collect, how we use it, and what you are agreeing to. It is a legal document.

Raffy is never an emergency response tool. Do not use Raffy during an anaphylactic or medical emergency.

1. Who We Are and What Raffy Does

Raffy Pty Ltd operates the Raffy food allergy & oral immunotherapy (OIT) companion application. Raffy is a dose tracking and logbook tool for families managing food allergy OIT at home under a clinician-directed protocol.

Raffy is not a medical service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. It does not replace your supervising allergist. Your allergist's instructions always take precedence over anything displayed in Raffy.

WHAT RAFFY DOES

* Helps you log doses, timing, reactions, and cofactors
* Displays your child's dose history and adherence patterns
* Generates clinician export reports you can choose to share
* Provides general educational information about OIT

WHAT RAFFY DOES NOT DO

* Make clinical decisions or recommend dose changes
* Transmit your health data to anyone without your action
* Replace scheduled appointments with your allergist
* Respond to or manage medical emergencies

2. Who May Give This Consent

This consent must be given by a parent or legal guardian who is:
* At least 18 years of age
* Legally authorised to consent to health-related data collection on behalf of the child patient
* The primary account holder for this Raffy account

If you are consenting on behalf of your child, you confirm that you have the legal authority to do so. Raffy is not intended to be used directly by individuals under 16 without verified parental consent.

3. What Health Information We Collect

Raffy collects sensitive health information as defined by s 6 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This attracts the highest level of protection under Australian privacy law.

4. How We Use Your Information

PRIMARY PURPOSE ALWAYS APPLIES

* Displaying your records and adherence history within the App
* Generating clinician export reports on your request
* Sending optional dose reminders (only if you turn them on)
* Maintaining and securing your account

SECONDARY PURPOSE: WITH YOUR CONSENT BELOW
* De-identified research and product improvement: We may use fully de-identified, aggregated data (e.g. "median post-dose observation time across all users") to improve Raffy and support research into OIT tracking.

No individual or family is identifiable in this data. You may opt out at any time.

* Service communications: We may email you about App updates, subscription changes, or material policy changes. You may opt out of non-essential communications.

5.Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

We will respond to access and correction requests within 30 calendar days at no charge (APP 12).

6.Withdrawing Consent and Ending Your Account

Giving this consent is voluntary. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any prior data use.

On account deletion:

* You will have 14 days to export your data
* Identifiable data will be deleted within 90 days
* De-identified data already incorporated into aggregated research may be retained
* Some account data may be retained for up to 7 years for legal compliance

Withdrawing consent means you cannot use Raffy. The App's core function, collecting and displaying health data, requires this consent. If you withdraw, your subscription will be cancelled and any prepaid fees for unused periods will be refunded in accordance with our Terms of Use.

7.Subscription and Payment

Raffy is a paid subscription service. By continuing past this consent, you confirm that you have read and agree to the Terms of Use which govern billing, cancellation, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law if Raffy does not meet consumer guarantees. Your subscription gives you the right to use Raffy for personal, family household use. It does not transfer any ownership of the App or its content to you.

I understand what Raffy is and is not

I understand Raffy is a tracking tool, not a medical service or device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. My allergist's instructions always take precedence.

I consent to health information collection

I consent to Raffy collecting and storing sensitive health information about my child (dose records, reactions, cofactors, notes) on my device, as described in Section 3

I consent to data being held server-side

I consent to my data being held on Raffy’s servers to operate my account, as described in the Privacy Policy

I confirm my authority to consent for my child

I am the parent or legal guardian of the child whose health information will be recorded in Raffy. I am at least 18 years of age and legally authorised to give this consent on their behalf.

I will maintain independent records

I understand I must keep my own independent records of my child's OIT protocol, doses, and reactions. I will not rely solely on Raffy. I understand how to export my data (Stats → Export PDF).

I have read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

I have read and agree to Raffy's Privacy Policy (v1.0, April 2026) and Terms of Use (v2.0, June 2026), which form part of this consent.

Consent to de-identified research use

I consent to fully de-identified, aggregated data derived from my use of Raffy being used for product improvement and research into OIT tracking tools. No individual or family will be identifiable. I may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing raffy@raffyallergy.com with subject "Opt Out of Research".

Consent to service communications

I consent to receiving emails from Raffy about App updates, new features, and OIT-related educational content. I may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
